Earlier in September, Kuber MIC donated $50,000 to the South Asian Autism Awareness Centre (SAAAC) to build a Multi-Sensory Room designed to provide an experience for students, incorporating a variety of sights, sounds, and textures which benefit the students from the gentle stimulation of all their senses, doubling as a de-stress room for when they feel stressed or anxious.

The SAAAC Autism Centre is a Toronto based charity that supports culturally and linguistically diverse families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who often do not benefit from resource awareness or engagement. SAAAC’s coordinated team aims to provide easily accessible and discipline-rich management for ASD.

SAAAC was created with the intention of inspiring families in need of access to autism services, with a special focus on culturally and linguistically diverse families who often do not benefit from resource awareness or engagement. Our organization looks to create positive change through:

– Encouraging lifelong development of the children, youth, and adults we serve through diverse therapies and programs

– Empowering parents through education, training, and peer support networks

– Engaging newcomer communities through meaningful volunteer experiences and fostering greater understanding and acceptance of ASD

– Providing access for all through community engagement and knowledge sharing
